The Lamborghini Huracan will have a lot of speculation following it once it is officially released in 2014 according to CAR Magazine. With direct competitors such as the Porsche 911 Turbo S, McLaren 12C, and the Ferrari 458 Italia there will be a lot of attention paid to the Huracan and how it will compete.
The Huracan follows the highly touted Gallardo which was considered Lamborghini’s best supercar ever made.
Similarly to the Gallardo the Huracan has a V10, 5.2 litre engine which drives all four wheels. There will be a new transmission in the Huracan. A dual-clutching seven speed will grace the car. This will be able to produce up to 601 bhp and 413lb ft. With the new improvements that means we will also no longer see the E-gear auto which was considered by most to be lackluster. We will also end up saying goodbye to the open-gate manual option that consisted of three pedals with these alterations.
This new engine will produce a bit more than the Gallardo however. It will have the ability to produce up to 41 bhp more as well as 15lb ft more. With this improvement it seems that the Huracan may be able to hit 62 mph in 3.2 seconds which is slower than that McLaren 12C by 0.1 but faster than the Ferrari 458 by 0.2. It is comparable in top speed as well ranging considerably lower than the McLaren 12C but with it’s max speed of 202 mph it is exactly the same as the Ferrari 458.
What potential buyers are looking for is if these changes will bring a new feel from the Gallardo which was beginning to feel aged. The car itself is rumored to feel like the inside of a fighter jet cockpit and that with its Ferrari styled steering and specific looking engine starter it should give buyers a futuristic feel and instead of them feeling like they are in the cockpit they may feel like they are the missile themselves.
